No more near misses

Not only can you connect with people on the line when you call in, but you can also send messages to callers who have been online in the last 24 hours. Your messages go into their message box to be retrieved when they’re next on the line. Of course, it works the other way around too – when you’re not on the line, callers who hear your greeting and are able to send you messages. Gone are the days of near misses! You can also save messages for later, and set up text message notifications to your mobile phone so you’ll know when you have messages waiting for you.

More than before

So, now when you enter the connector you hear local callers who are on the line right now, then you have a choice to hear callers who are on the line and outside your immediate local area, or to local callers who have been recently on the line. By pressing the 8 key after you listen to a greeting you can hear how long ago the caller was on the line, as well as the usual information about where they called from and their rating.

Easy message management

To manage messages that you receive while you’re off the line, as well as messages you’ve saved, there’s a new option (the 3 key) to access your message box from the Main Menu. You have all the usual message option here, like listening to the greeting of the caller who sent the message, as well as the ability to reply to messages.

Goodbye borders

To make a long story short, we expanded the geographic reach of our connectors, meaning that that fewer people are affected by the borders between our connectors. For example, we used to have three connectors in California – the one centered around San Francisco, another centered around Sacramento, and a third around Los Angeles. This meant that, say, callers in our Sacramento connector but close to the edge of the San Francisco connector couldn’t talk to callers close to them but who were in the San Francisco connector. Now we have a single connector for all of California – no more border problem.

This also means that, if you’re interested, you often can talk to people who are further away from you than before, all with a single membership calling your local Livelinks number. Of course, if you just want to listen to callers local to you, you still have that option – we always play greetings in order of distance from you, and whenever anyone new comes on the line we play their greeting as soon as we can even if they’re closer to you than the greeting you just heard. Plus, at any time, you can return to the beginning of the connector – to the callers closest to you, even if you’ve already heard them – by pressing 5.

It's all about control

Following the simple instructions, you send your picture to our special phone number and we link the photo to your Livelinks membership. Then when anyone hears your greeting they’ll also hear a noise, like a camera taking a photo, signifying that you have a picture to share. If they request your picture, you’ll be asked whether or not you want to let them receive it. If you approve, we will send your picture to their phone from our special number. Your phone number is never shared, and nobody will ever get your picture without your express permission.
